In Devari village under the Dhanghata police station area, a husband, exhausted by his wife’s ongoing affair and wishing for her happiness, arranged her marriage with her lover himself. The husband stated that when his wife lost interest in him and their children and fell in love with someone else, he felt it was best to solemnize their marriage at a temple. This unusual incident has become the talk of the town across the entire region.

Love Marriage 21 Years Ago, Parents to Five Children

According to available details, Budhiram Nishad (son of Komal Nishad), a resident of Devari village, had a love marriage with Phoolmati about 21 years ago. Over the years, their family grew, and they had five children together. Everything seemed fine until recently, when Phoolmati’s affections drifted toward a fellow villager named Avadhesh (son of Ranglal). Matters escalated when Phoolmati abruptly left her home and children about two months ago to elope with her lover, Avadhesh.

Wedding Solemnized at a Temple in the Presence of Villagers

After family members and local residents intervened and counseled her to return, Phoolmati came back home. To put an end to the daily disputes and friction, her husband, Budhiram, came up with a unique solution. In the presence of relatives and local villagers, Budhiram got his wife Phoolmati married to her lover Avadhesh at the Shiv temple in Ashrafpur, bidding her farewell with a smiling face.

Explaining the rationale behind his bold and unprecedented decision amidst widespread public discussion, Budhiram candidly remarked that looking at current times, he did not want to take any fatal risks. Budhiram stated, “I don’t want to get packed in a drum; I want to live my life.”

He added that while he too had entered into a love marriage 21 years ago, his wife’s attachment toward him and their children had completely faded away in favor of someone else. Realizing that her heart was no longer in their marriage, he chose to see her happiness and personally facilitated their wedding rituals at the temple.
