Kanpur Dehat Rape Case: 14-Year-Old Girl Found Eight Months Pregnant, Two Youths Booked for Gangrape

Kanpur Dehat: A shocking case of alleged gangrape involving a 14-year-old girl has been reported from a village under the Gajner police station area of Kanpur Dehat. The incident came to light after the minor complained of abdominal pain and was taken for medical examination. An ultrasound revealed that she was around eight months pregnant.

According to the complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the minor later told her that two youths from the same village had allegedly called her to a secluded location on the pretext of preparing prasad at a Durga Mata temple. The two allegedly took her to a hut near the temple and sexually assaulted her.

The mother told police that the accused allegedly threatened the girl with serious consequences if she disclosed the incident. She was reportedly warned that her family would be killed if she complained. Frightened by the threats, the girl did not tell anyone about the alleged assault.

The matter surfaced only when the teenager began experiencing abdominal pain. Her mother sought medical advice and got an ultrasound conducted. The family was shocked to learn that the girl was eight months pregnant.

When the mother questioned her daughter about the pregnancy, the teenager reportedly broke down and narrated the alleged incident. She told her mother that the two youths had threatened her and repeatedly warned her against speaking about the matter.

The girl’s mother has told police that her husband is disabled and that she works as a labourer to support the family. She said her daughter was alone at home when she was allegedly called away on the pretext of helping prepare prasad at the temple.

Following the complaint, police registered a case of gangrape against the two accused. Police teams are now searching for the suspects.

Gajner Station House Officer Sanat Kumar confirmed that a gangrape case has been registered and said efforts were underway to trace the accused.

The case has raised serious concerns over the safety of minors in rural areas, particularly where victims may remain silent because of threats or fear. The investigation is underway, and further details are awaited.
