Lucknow: An unusual marital dispute has surfaced from Malihabad in Lucknow, where a PRD (Prantiya Rakshak Dal) jawan reportedly arranged his wife’s marriage to her school-time boyfriend after she refused to continue living with him. The woman had allegedly left her matrimonial home with her former schoolmate and was later traced to neighbouring Hardoi.
The incident has since become a talking point in the area, largely because of the husband’s decision to avoid a confrontation and instead facilitate the couple’s marriage at a local village temple.
According to information available in the case, the PRD jawan, a resident of the Malihabad police station area, had married the woman from the Mal police station area around a year ago. The marriage was performed according to traditional customs and the couple had been living together as husband and wife.
However, the woman allegedly remained in contact with a man she knew from her school days. The two were reportedly in a relationship before her marriage and later decided to leave together.
A few days ago, the woman suddenly went missing from her matrimonial home. Her family and husband searched for her but could not locate her. The PRD jawan subsequently approached Malihabad police and submitted a missing-person complaint.
During the investigation, police reportedly used technical inputs and mobile-location details to trace the woman. Her location was found in neighbouring Hardoi, following which the matter came to light. She was subsequently brought back.
