The Municipal Corporation has adopted a strict stance to tackle the problem of stray and roaming animals in the capital city. The Animal Welfare Department of the Municipal Corporation launched a special campaign across various areas of the city, seizing dozens of stray animals. Alongside this, a strict decree has been issued to take legal action and register FIRs against owners who leave their cattle unattended in public.
35 Animals Captured from Prime Localities, Panic on Streets
Teams from the Animal Welfare Department conducted intensive raids in several major areas of the city. In this crackdown, conducted across busy and prominent areas including Indira Nagar, Aliganj, Nishatganj, Gomti Nagar, Vibhuti Khand, and Geetapalli, a total of 35 animals were captured. This included 18 cows, 6 bulls, 7 female calves, and 4 male calves. This sudden action caused widespread panic among livestock owners who leave their animals roaming outdoors.
Heavy Fines and Direct FIR for Leaving Cattle Loose
The Municipal Corporation administration has issued a clear warning that no animal owner should leave their livestock loose on streets or in public places. If any animal is found roaming on the road, heavy fines will be collected from the owner, followed by stringent legal action.
The civic body has also clarified that if an unattended animal attacks or injures a passerby on the street, direct accountability will be fixed on the respective animal owner, and an FIR will be lodged against them with the police. The administration has reiterated that this campaign will continue consistently to free the city from the menace of stray animals.
