Lok Sabha Secretariat Director Dies by Suicide in Noida: 15-Page Note Reveals Rs 70 Lakh Debt Struggle

In a deeply tragic and shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, an official working as a Director in the Lok Sabha Secretariat died by suicide at his residence. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Gaurav Gautam, whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his flat at Kendriya Vihar-2 Society in Sector 82, Noida, sending waves of grief through the entire neighborhood and among his family members.

Discovery of Tragedy Upon Wife’s Return from Parental Home

The heartbreaking event came to light when Gaurav Gautam’s wife returned home from her maternal home. At the time of the incident, the official was entirely alone inside the house. Upon reaching the flat, his wife rang the doorbell multiple times and attempted to contact him over the phone, but received no response from inside. Suspecting foul play, she sought assistance from the society’s security guard. With the guard’s help, when the flat’s door was unlocked, Gaurav Gautam was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the room. Family members immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon examination.

15-Page Suicide Note Highlights Severe Financial Stress

Upon receiving information about the incident, Phase-2 police station officials and a forensic team promptly rushed to the scene and conducted a thorough search of the flat. During the search, police recovered a 15-page suicide note written by the deceased. In the note, Gaurav Gautam did not hold any other individual responsible for his death. According to the note, mounting household expenses and escalating financial pressure had piled up a debt of approximately Rs 70 lakh against him. Overwhelmed by this massive financial burden and prolonged mental stress, he took this extreme step.

“Could Not Become a Good Husband and Father”

Central Noida Additional DCP Swatantra Singh shared that the deceased mentioned in his suicide note that he felt he could not become a good husband and father, a regret that would always weigh heavily on him. He leaves behind an 8-year-old only son. Police are thoroughly investigating the contents of the suicide note and probing the exact circumstances under which such a massive debt accumulated.

Police Investigating Every Angle Thoroughly

Phase-2 Police Station SHO Raghavendra Singh stated that preliminary investigations suggest the case is one of suicide. No formal allegations have been raised against any individual by the grieving family thus far. The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. Authorities stated that further legal action will proceed based on the post-mortem report, forensic findings, and evidence gathered from the suicide note, while a comprehensive probe into the matter remains ongoing.
